Queried Sci-Fi on 2/19/26
Saludos!
I just thought I’d note that: Some of the middle chapter’s take place in the Yucatan and 9 chapters take place in Ontario.
Also, I could always change the Artificial intelligence premise to an Artificial Enhancement (AE), without much effort, just in case the AI thing is getting tired out.
Either way, I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Manny

-Mention word count not meeting YA requirements. It seems she has a personal preference for YA Contemporary to have 70,000-90,000.

Rejection March 29, 2026 due to word count
YA Historical Fantasy Romance 100k
I appreciate the fast response time!
"Thank you for giving me the opportunity to consider [title]. I'm afraid this story might require further editing in part due to your word count of 100,000. In Young Adult: Fantasy, submissions should be in the 50,000-90,000 word range, especially for a debut. I wish you all the best in finding a good home for your work.
